Swimming Federation of India Announces 71stGlenmark Senior National Aquatic Championships 2017


6TH October 2017, Bhopal, India - The Swimming Federation of India is pleased to announce 71st Glenmark Senior National Aquatic Championships 2017in association with Madhya Pradesh Swimming Association at Bhopal and Indore. About 600athletesrepresenting26 stateswill participate in the disciplines of Swimming, Diving and Water Polo. Glenmark Aquatic Foundation, (GAF) is the title sponsor of the Championships.





The Swimming and Water Polo events will be held at Prakash TaranPushkarfrom 7th October 2017 to 11th October 2017. The Diving events would be held from 8th October 2017 to 10th October 2017 at Nehru Park Swimming Pool, Indore.
The event will witness top swimmers from the country in action who are also preparing for the upcomingCommonwealth and Asian Games in 2018.






Olympians Sajan Prakash and ShivaniKatariyawho represented India in Rio 2016 Olympics will be participating in the event. This event will also feature the likes of Asian Games medallists’ Sandeep Sejwal, VeerdhawalKhade as well as upcoming age group swimmers like Srihari Nataraj, KushagraRawat and SaloniDalal. Jyotsna Pansare and Damini Gowda who represented India in the recent Asian Age Group Championships will also exhibit their skills. Young talents like Group II Championship winner Swadesh Mondal and 13 year old Veer Khattar will have a first taste of competing with Seniors. Advait Page and Annie Jain would lead the home state contingent.
Honourable Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Shivraj Singh Chauhanwill inaugurate the event at 4:30pm on 7th October 2017. The heats of the swimming events would begin on 7thOctober at 8 am and on other days at 8.30 am. The finals will begin at 5.30 pm every day.
The Event will be streamed live on the website www.glenmarkaquatic.org and live upates will be updated on twitter handle @nacindia as well. Also, the daily results, order of events and other details will be updated on www.swimmingfederation.in
In addition to the event, FINA in partnership with SFI shall conduct swimming and Water Polo clinics featuring International Coaches
